Ruth Elisabeth (Bolliger) Kranawetter, 86, passed away at her home in Spring Valley Lake on June 13, 2017.
She was born on June 17, 1930, at her home on 5th Street in Chino, the daughter of Hans Bolliger, a Swiss immigrant and Lya, a German immigrant. She grew up in Chino and graduated from Chino High School in 1948. After high school, she attended Chaffey College and later transferred to La Verne University. Ruth Elisabeth (Bolliger) Kranawetter, 86, passed away at her home in Spring Valley Lake on June 13, 2017.
She was born on June 17, 1930, at her home on 5th Street in Chino, the daughter of Hans Bolliger, a Swiss immigrant and Lya, a German immigrant. She grew up in Chino and graduated from Chino High School in 1948. After high school, she attended Chaffey College and later transferred to La Verne University. She graduated with a degree in home economics and an elementary teaching credential. She later returned to school and earned her Master's Degree in Education. She started her teaching career as a second-grade teacher at Richard Gird Elementary. She met Reuben Kranawetter at church in 1954. They were married on April 2, 1955 and celebrated their 62nd anniversary this year. Ruth taught school for 35 years in Chino Valley Unified School District before retiring from Newman Elementary in 1995. Ruth and Reuben retired to Mission Lakes in the Palm Springs area in 1995 and later in 2002 relocated to Spring Valley Lake. They enjoyed their retirement years traveling and golfing. Ruth was a charter member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Chino.
She is survived by her husband, Reuben Kranawetter; her daughter Nancy Fewins, husband Randy and grandsons Trevor and Tyler; her son Tim Kranawetter, wife Vicki and grandchildren Tim and Lauren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Hans Bolliger Jr.
The viewing will be held at Draper Mortuary in Ontario on Tuesday June 20, 2017 from 4pm-7pm. The funeral service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Chino on Wednesday June 21, 2017 at 10:00am.
