Aureliano "Bibi" Sandoval Ruiz, born November 16, 1945 in Corona, California to Aureliano M. Ruiz and María de Jesus Sandoval and passed away peacefully on August 1, 2017 at home in Riverside.

Raised in Ontario, he moved to Chino and then Riverside. He was a 1964 graduate from Pomona Catholic Boys High School. He had a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Master of Science in Counseling from CSU, Fullerton and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity. He served in the Army National Guard.

Aureliano "Bibi" Sandoval Ruiz, born November 16, 1945 in Corona, California to Aureliano M. Ruiz and María de Jesus Sandoval and passed away peacefully on August 1, 2017 at home in Riverside.

Raised in Ontario, he moved to Chino and then Riverside. He was a 1964 graduate from Pomona Catholic Boys High School. He had a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Master of Science in Counseling from CSU, Fullerton and was a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity. He served in the Army National Guard.

Aureliano was a social worker and a licensed Marriage, Family, and Child counselor. As an Associate Professor at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona for 33 years, he passionately advocated for young adults, especially Chicanos/Chicanas, and was the faculty adviser for the Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán, and a mentor for the Mexican-American Student Association house and the Puente Project. His contributions to higher education and the causes he sponsored earned him recognition and awards. He authored scholarly journal articles, supported Cesar Chavez and marched for farm workers' rights including leadership in Mini-Corps.

He enjoyed and strongly supported the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!). He was an altar boy and a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Grupo de Oración and the Catholic Cursillo Movement.

Aureliano is survived by his wife of 46 years, Roseanna; his daughter and son-in-law, Rosalinda Ruíz and Louis Wischnewsky of Diamond Bar; his sons Daniel Ruiz and Miguel Ruiz, both of Riverside. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Linda Montoya; his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Marianna and Frank Delgado and Paul Montoya, Ontario; his sister Maria Victoria "Vicky" Valdez of Anaheim; two additional siblings, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Aureliano was an amazing and loving husband, son, and father, devoted to his family and his Catholic faith. He will be deeply missed.

Viewing/Visitation at Draper Mortuary, 811 N. Mountain Ave. in Ontario on August 9, 2017 from 5-7:30 p.m., rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 5048 D St. in Chino on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. Internment after the mass at Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 W. G St. in Ontario.
